Say Something Art Comp
Crime Stoppers Victoria has launched a new initiative, www.SaySomething.org.au, aimed at encouraging young people to report violence. They’re calling on young artists to help by submitting works for an exhibition and competition relevant to the theme, ‘Say Something’.
Young artists have the opportunity to voice their concerns creatively, expressing their reactions to and ways of dealing with violence in the community, while also helping to prevent further altercations.
Aside from exploring an extremely important topic, their work will also be showcased in a public forum.
On Wednesday May 30, the art exhibition and competition will be held in the CBD’s Thousand Pound Bend to coincide with the launch of SaySomething.org.au.
Finalists will have the chance to have their artwork seen and judged by magazine editors and graphic designers, with the winners receiving a 12-month subscription to Desktop Magazine and Time Out Melbourne magazine, as well as a merchandise pack from radio station Triple R.
The ‘Say Something to Prevent Youth Violence’ theme must be formatted to an AO portrait poster (841mm x 1189mm) in a JPEG, TIFF or PDF (no larger than 8mb).
Email your entry to Fiona@sweetcreative.com.au under the subject: Say Something. Please include your name, contact number and poster title no later than May 24 2012, 5pm.
